Yes the first week I was at DreamWorks there was a hug fire right across the street.

triathlon

I was convinced by a co worker that participating in a triathlon would be fun. So I decided to try it out this year by being part of a relay team. I was the swimmer. It was a lot of work but it was a great experience. The triathlon was to help raise money for the children's hospital There were a bunch of celebrities including Cindy Crawford and J lo.

Family visit!!!

In August my family was able to come out and visit me again and this time Rachel was able to come. We had a blast. For the first weekend they stayed with me. We went to la brea tar pits and found Canter's deli. Then my mom and dad went to ventura while my sister and I spent a day at the beach and went to griffth park for my friends Vio's b-day. Then we headed up to Venture and spent the rest of the week with our parents. We went to channel island and wine tasting. here are some pictures!

Horse back riding!

I haven't been horse back riding in a really long time. I took a class at Bowling Green, but that was 4 years ago. But horse back riding is so much fun and it just so happens that there are a bunch of horse back riding places practically right next to DreamWorks. One of my friends and a fellow DW employee went on a horse back riding outing with the lighting department and she thought that it was so much fun that she had to share it with the rest of us. So begins our Saturday afternoon. The trip took about 1 hour and 1/2 and we went to an over look in Griffith Park. It was beautiful and so much fun.

Past Month

I have had a fantastic past month! One weekend some friends and I got up really early on a Saturday morning and took a five mile hike to see the Hollywood sign up close. The next weekend a bunch of us spent all day on the beach for the 4th or July, and then the next day attempted to go on a hike. Two weeks later it was my birthday! The day of my birthday I went to my office and saw a large balloon with a basket attached to it filled with different types of cookies and muffins waiting for me from my mom and dad. For dinner my friend vio arranged a surprise dinner with all of my friends at this amazing pizza place. Not only was it a 4 course meal but we also saw Vince Vaughn and Carson Daily. Then on Saturday we went on a hike at Point Dume where we saved a seal with a broken flipper. If you want to see more pictures of the hikes go to my flicker page!

DreamWorks

Right now I am working at DreamWorks animation studio as a surfacer. At other companies my title would be called a texture artist. This is my first job out of school where I worked on Kung Panda for 6 months and now I am working on a new movie called Monsters vs Aliens. Here are two pictures of DreamWorks campus. It is beautiful.

I have been busy this past month moving and settling into my new apartment. It is a little smaller but a whole lot nicer than my old apartment. I have a pool, jacuzzi, fitness center, and I can get a pet! Here are two pictures of my new place. Enjoy!!

KITTEN!!

I just got a new kitten a few weeks ago! I named him Professor Hobbs Layton. The name Hobbs comes from the tiger in Calvin and Hobbs. I think this is very fitting for my cat even though he is not orange. He has tiger stripes on his and is very fierce. The Professor Layton part of Hobbs name is from a puzzle game my friend ark has me play from time to time. The main character in the game is professor Layton and is very smart and curious just like my cat. All the pictures of Hobbs I put up are of him being all cute and sleeping. But do not be fooled!! He is a ball of energy that likes to wake me up at 3 in the morning because that is the perfect time to play. Hobbs also thinks that my feet are the perfect things to pounce on and my hand is a toy that is more fun than his already millions of toys I have bought him.
